2025 Wild Horse and Burro Roundup Updates:
An updated version of the FY25 Roundup Schedule was released on July 1, 2025:
On July 1, 2025, the Bureau of Land Management released the updated FY25 Tentative 'Gather' schedule and they plan to remove another 11,000 wild horses and burros from our public lands Starting October 1, 2024 through September 30, 2025. The 'Gather' Schedule is constantly revised a few times a year as the Bureau adds and removes herds. See the numbers in the graphic above or the link below for the most current HMAs on the roundup schedule.
The tentative FY2025 July 1st updated roundup schedule can be found here:
• BLM has postponed plans to remove wild horses from the Kiger HMA and the nearby Riddle Mountain HMA in Oregon. These horses should be protected not removed. Oregon Wild Horse Organization has a pending lawsuit on this removal.
• BLM has postponed plans to remove wild horses from the Salt Wells Creek HA and the Adobe Town HA. They have tentatively moved the roundup to October 2025.
Wild horses need our voices now more than ever.

'I am calling (or writing) today to ask (Representative or Senator) _______________________ for an immediate moratorium on all wild horse and burro roundups until Congress can investigate the Bureau of Land Management's (BLM) wasteful spending of taxpayer dollars, lack of transparency with Congress and the American public, violations of the Comprehensive Animal Welfare Program (CAWP), and massive mismanagement of the Wild Horse and Burro Program. We want wild horses and burros preserved in the American West on the land that was principally set aside for them under the Wild and Free-Roaming Horse & Burro Act of 1971. The BLM is set on systematically exterminating America's treasured wild horses and burros. This is an urgent, time sensitive matter as the BLM is presently chasing wild horses and burros with helicopters, causing countless deaths of these treasured animals, and zeroing out additional wild horse herds in Wyoming.'
ALL American taxpayers are footing the bill for wild horse and burro roundups no matter what state you live in. ALL members of Congress should be concerned, no matter the state you live in. Congress provides the budget to the Bureau of Land Management. You have every right to be concerned and ask your US Representative and both US Senators from any state to get involved.
